A very nice sounding console, 11-tubes, 3 bands (broadcast and 2 shortwave), automatic frequency control, 12″ speaker, motorized tuning with up to 8 preset stations, magic eye tuning.

According to some RCA promotional material in 1938 concerning the 811K : “Travel should be a pleasure, not a chore. Here is pleasure in a superb radio heightened to the point of luxury. An 11-tube super hetrodyne capable of tuning in standard domestic and foreign programs, the 811K also offers Electric Tuning, Sonic-Arc Tone Chamber, Straight-Line Dial, Magic Voice, plus a host of other outstanding conveniences newly developed by RCA. It is housed in a console of striking simplicity and charm.”

When I got this radio the cabinet was trash but I restored the chassis anyway. I tried to give it away for a year on FB but no takers. So decided to find a cabinet and finish the radio. A radio was found a few hours north of Milwaukee that had been in the house since the woman bought it in 1965, so I had the cabinet refinished and put the good chassis in it. It’s a keeper now!

This is the “before” picture!
I believe these are instructions for making your own “key” for changing the preset stations, I left them as is.
