There were two versions of this console, the early version had “shoulders” the late version had just a flat top. The earlier version is much nicer looking, but hey, take what you can get. 10-tubes, 3-bands (Broadcast, SW, and Police). Magic-eye tuning. The sides of the cabinet are rounded, it is sharp looking radio. The dial displays the NBC Blue and Red networks (we’ll make a post on that some day). This is the house brand for “Western Auto Supply” headquartered out of Kansas City that was founded in 1909. Pretty sure these were manufactured by Detrola, if you look at the Detrola 139E, they are identical except the Detrola model is a tombstone. Detrola made radios for over a 100 brand names.

This one was found in a thrift store in Gurnee, IL for next to nothing. Cabinet went to a gentleman named Brad Lush of Ultimate Services for refinishing. He did an excellent job. Chassis was overhauled, new dial glass. Turned out very nice and plays well. The rounded cabinet makes for a very nice looking radio.
