Our brother-in-law commented how much he liked this style of radio when the other was completed. this was found on FB about an hour and a half south of us. Much worse shape than the last one, the buttons were crumbling into dust and the cabinet was very rough. the chassis was redone and aligned, new buttons from renovatedradios.com.the cabinet was given several treatments of “Old English” furniture polish, then a few costs of Howards “Restor-A-Finish”, and finally several treatments of Howards “Feed-N-Wax”, and a new grill cloth. The cabinet has blemishes but it looks like it has been in the family for years but taken care of. The escutcheon was cleaned and repainted gold. The radio plays very well and our brother-in-law and sister are very happy with it.

a final test before delivery!

1940 Philco Xmas ad, had to look twice, it looked like the price for the radio was $19.00 at first! That would have been a bargain back then!
