Very few exceptions to the “nothing past the early 40’s unless it is a Crosley or Midwest”, but these 60’s Zenith consoles are very nice and getting harder to find in good condition, as well as becoming quite collectable. The trend is taking these console, gutting them and adding modern innards. This was a FB Marketplace find in St. Louis, but worth the trip. The cabinet is in almost new condition.

AM/FM stereo, inputs for a tape player, Zenith branded record changer manufactured by “Voice of Music”, model number 1295 . 8 speakers, each side has a 10″ woofer and three 3 and half inch tweeters. There are louvers on each side where the speakers are located that can be opened for playing the console and closed when you don’t, it is a nice looking piece of furniture. The filter caps were replaced as they were starting to bulge, pots and switches removed and cleaned, new cartridge for the record changer, and a good cleaning and polishing. Zenith made others model like this one, the X932, X934, X938, if you find one grab it.
